WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Mary Sattler Peltola (AK-AL) announced $53,998,114 in FY24 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grants awarded via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for Alaska roads and ports. “Between permafrost, rising seas, and decades of under-investment from the Lower 48, Alaska roads and ports are long overdue for an upgrade, ” said Representative Peltola.“This funding helps make that possible. I’m proud to be Alaska’s advocate in the House of Representatives.” “After decades of underinvestment, the condition of Alaska’s infrastructure is now finally getting better instead of worse – and today we proudly announce our support for 148 more projects in communities across the country, including Alaska” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “Through President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re funding projects across the country to make roads safer, make it easier for people to move around their community, make transportation infrastructure more resilient to extreme weather, and improve supply chains to keep costs down for consumers.”
