Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Mary Sattler Peltola released the following statement on the final passage of H.R. 441, the Don Young Alaska Native Health Care Transfers Act. “Yesterday, the Senate passed H.R.441, the Don Young Alaska Native Health Care Transfers Act. This bill, which I have championed since I was elected to the House earlier this year, orders the conveyance of lands from the Department of Health and Human Services to three Tribal health organizations – the Tanana Tribal Council, Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium – so they may further host, develop, and serve the needs of Alaska’s Native communities. I am grateful to my Senate colleagues for passing this bill and look forward to continuing Don Young’s legacy in the House.” ### |
