MEDIA ADVISORY: Representative Peltola to host telephone town hall on Albertson-Kroger merger this Tuesday, Nov. 28 11/27/2023 Contact: Washington, D.C. — Tomorrow at 5pm Alaska time, Representative Peltola will host a telephone town hall with Alaskans to discuss the proposed merger between Albertson and Kroger grocers, which would affect Carrs, Safeway, and Fred Meyer stores in Alaska. Representative Peltola sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission urging them to block this merger in August of this year. Since then, Alaska’s Senate delegation, 24 state legislators, and the Anchorage Assembly have also expressed concerns with or opposition to the proposed merger. Alaskans and interested members of the media can register for the telephone town hall using this link. Registration will close three hours before the event; 2:00 p.m. on November 28th. ###
