Peltola Announces $158 Mil for AK Airport Infrastructure
WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Mary Sattler Peltola (AK-AL) announced $158,472,044 in new Airport Improvement Program Grants she voted to fund via FY24 government funding bills. These grants will help rehabilitate airport runways and update other necessary infrastructure for safe air travel in Alaska.
“This funding will go a long way in reinventing and rehabilitating our airports that so desperately need it,” said Rep. Peltola. “Basic infrastructure like lighting for our runways and the runways themselves need to be functional and up to date in every region of Alaska so all our communities have access to safe air travel.”
