Peltola Announces $25 Mil for AK Airport Infrastructure

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Mary Sattler Peltola (AK-AL) announced $25,207,700 in Airport Improvement Program Grants she voted to fund under FY24 government funding bills. These grants will help replace, reseal, and rehabilitate airport runways and update other necessary infrastructure for safe air travel – much of which is long overdue.

“This funding will help strengthen the airport infrastructure on which we rely so heavily in Alaska,” said Rep. Peltola. “Roughly 85% of Alaskan communities aren’t on the road system–we need to make sure our airports are safe and efficient.”
