Washington, D.C. --Former state senator Josh Revak will be joining the Representative’s staff as State Director. In this role, Revak will oversee the operation of Representative Peltola’s Alaska At-Large District Office and be a first point of contact for Alaskans who are seeking assistance with federal agencies or casework.

Josh Revak brings a wealth of diverse experience and Alaskan knowledge to this role. His career in public service includes two combat tours in Iraq followed by years of advocacy on behalf of Alaskans. Revak has served Alaskans in his role as staff in the U.S. House and U.S Senate, while also earning a Master of Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University. In 2018, Revak won election to the state legislature from Anchorage House District 25, and afterwards was appointed to the Anchorage Senate District M seat. During his time in the legislature, Josh chaired the Senate Resources committee, and built a reputation of bipartisan, solutions-oriented legislating.

“I’m grateful to have Josh joining my team,” Representative Peltola said. “Since I won the election with support from Alaskans on both sides of the aisle, I’ve been building a team ready to tackle the issues that unite us. So many friends across the state have shared stories with me about how Don personally helped them solve problems they were experiencing with the federal bureaucracy. This is a big part of his legacy I want to honor—helping Alaskans one on one, with issues that are pressing in their lives. Josh’s experience working for Don and on behalf of Alaskans will be a major asset to our team, and I look forward to working with him to help people address their individual concerns with the federal government.”

Constituent casework is a service offered by every Congressional office that spans a wide variety of issue areas. Some recent successes that Peltola’s office achieved include helping spouses secure survivor benefits with back pay and helping a retired sergeant securing a place in a DOD employment program.

“We may have different party affiliations, but the job is about serving all Alaskans,” said Revak. When Mary reached out to me expressing her commitment to hearing all Alaskan voices and serving all Alaskans to the best of her ability, I shared that vision. I look forward to serving Alaskans in this capacity.”
